GypsyMama’s Five Minute Friday. When Seasons Change
When Season Change I am reminded of the cycle of life. I guess most of are that way, especially when you live in Canada where each solstice is so dramatic from the last.
My favorite is the fall when walks through rustling leaves just feels good to the soul. There is a comfort in the sound of all that rustling and the sharper smells as the air seems clearer. It is my favorite time to be in a forest. It’s a quiet season, a getting ready to snuggle down season and get ready for my favorite holiday – Thanksgiving because it is a time for true Thanks Giving. It is a time when families come together, no gifts mandated by commercialism…just plain old Thanks for our blessings and an appreciation for the many people who are those blessings.
Nuts..times up!

Hi Chris. Yes Fall in Canada – great memories of The Laurentians and the color of the falling leaves. All leaves have fallen here now and it is truly winter although not the winters of Montreal.
Great post. Love the idea of 5 minute Friday – how do I get onto it?

Canada sounds a little like Ireland, fall most definitely being my favourite. Thanks for stopping in and for sharing your thoughts here… think I will become frequent visitor.

Thanks Karen..those I know who have been to Ireland say there is no other beauty like it and no other greenery better. BTW I like your post on relocation as I am planning on the same in a couple of months and I gave me some good ideas!

Fall IS the best time of year. I often think of living in a warmer, year round, climate. But think I would miss autumn.

I know..can’t have fall without winter. When I lived in south Texas I thought I would not miss the seasons..but I did!

My husband moved from western Canada to southern California more than 10 years ago, and he still talks about how much he misses the changing seasons. We have fall here too, a little, but you really have to go look for trees with good leaves for crunching.
I love your thoughts on seasons and thanksgiving. (I also love that you have a category called “Books Books and more Books”! You’re obviously a kindred spirit where books are concerned.) Happy Friday!

Thanks and I loved your post when you said the change of seasons always sneak up on you…!
So Cal sounds like such an interesting place to live. Although I am passionate about the Canadian west also! On the Books..I did a post on Heaven and hell because addiction to books can be both..but I love them!
